You can arrive to Magikana Festival by car, bike, public transport or hiking.
Please go to How to Arrive to Magikana Festival
At what time are the gates open?
The gates to Magikana Festival will be open from 9 am until 9 pm on Friday 19, Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 of July 2024.
The festival is located at the end of a single lane mountain road. Because of this, we only permit access/egress during daylight hours (9 am – 9 pm).
We may open the gates on Thursday 18 July in the afternoon. This is subject to confirmation. Festival Opens to Public: 09:00 hrs. Friday 19 July (no public access the day before!).
Anyone arriving out of hours (before 9am or after 9pm) will be asked to park up in an overflow car park (3 miles from the site) and will not be allowed entrance until the following morning.
Magikana Festival is licensed from 12 pm Friday, 19 July, until 6 pm Monday, 22 July 2024.
A valid festival ticket allows you to enjoy the festival during this time.
All attendees must leave the site by 9 pm Monday, 22 July.
When the Music starts and when it ends?
The programme of Magikana 2024 includes 75 hours of non-stop music.
- Music Starts: Friday 19 July at 12:00 hrs (midday)
- Music Ends: Monday 22 July at around 15:00 hrs.
Food Stalls will still be open until 18:00 hrs.
All attendees must leave the site by 21:00 hrs on Monday 22 July.
Is the Music really non-stop?
Yes, Magikana Festival has a 24 hour music license. This is to stay consistent with similar types of international festivals and gatherings.
We believe that the music is like a sacred fire that burns for the duration of the gathering.
It is also more sustainable to concentrate the programme on a few main stages functioning around the clock, than having multiple small stages for just a few hours.
The music programme has been curated to create a world class journey between the two main stages, one featuring uptempo psy music and the other downtempo and midtempo.
There are also quiet camping areas further away from the stages.
Are there any prohibited items I should not bring?
The following items are prohibited at the Entrance Gate:
- Gas canisters, including nitrous oxide
- Unauthorised trading goods
- Items considered weapons
- Illegal drugs
- Drones
- Disposable charcoal barbecues
- Fireworks and flares
- Glass
- Generators
- Sound systems (except small portable speakers)
Amnesty boxes are provided for the safe disposal of prohibited items.
What about bonfires, barbecues and camping stoves?
Magikana has a central bonfire for everyone to enjoy.
Other bonfires or disposable barbecues are not allowed.
Small camping stoves or gas barbecues are allowed on site.
Can I camp anywhere?
You can only camp in the designated camping areas.
Anyone found wild camping in an ‘out of bounds’ area will be asked to move.
There will be a number of camp areas available, both near to the stages (and hence noisy), or further away up on the surrounding hills (hence quieter).
There are camping zones for living vehicles only, tents only or camp with car. More info will be published here.
Can I bring my children?
Magikana is a family friendly festival and children of all ages are welcome to attend.
Under 13s tickets are basically free, and teenager tickets are approximately half price. See tickets for more information.
All children need a named ticket purchased by their parent/guardian. Identification will be required for entry and children must be accompanied by their parent/guardian.
All under 18s are the sole responsibility of the parent/guardians and there are no creche facilities supplied by the festival at all.
No alcohol is to be provided to any under 18s.
You should consider bringing hearing protection for your children.
Can I bring my dog?
Dogs are allowed on site, however they must be of good character and kept under control and on a lead all the time. Violent dogs are not allowed.
Dogs must be registered prior to arrival by emailing tickets@magikana.org with the name and photograph of the dog, owner’s name, contact telephone and vehicle registration. Any dogs arriving at the gate unregistered will be refused entry.
There are sheep grazing all around the site so all dogs must be kept under control.
Dog poos are the owner’s responsibility and must be cleaned up to keep the site clean for everyone.
Will there be food on site?
We are planning to have a Vegetarian Cafe providing hot and cold food and non alcoholic drinks during the festival.
There will also be a plethora of other options ranging from pizzas to barbeque.
You are welcome to and we encourage you to bring your own food.
Please note: The nearest shops are in the towns of Tregaron or Lampeter, which are approx. 8 miles away from the festival.
Is there free drinking water?
We will provide free drinking water but it is always a good idea to for you to bring some reserves.

In keeping with the family friendly ethos of the festival, we are not running a bar and we have no license for the supply of alcohol.
The event is 100% BYO (bring your own). We suggest you stock up completely before coming to the site as there are no shops nearby.

Please take your rubbish home with you or dispose empty cans or plastic bottles at the recycling points.

Are there general supplies on site?
There is currently no plan to have a convenience shop on site.
That might change, but in the meantime if you need anything, either bring it with you or buy it in a local town before you reach the site.
There will be various traders, however, we do not guarantee what they’ll have.
Is there a cash machine on site?
Is there a telephone signal on site?
There is NO mobile phone reception on the site.
There is a faint signal if you walk for ten minutes up to the top of the hill but it is unreliable for 4G.
Consider yourself mostly off grid for the duration of the festival.
What about toilets and showers?
There will be portaloos on site. Please use them and don’t do your business on the land.
Whilst we do our best to provide toilet paper, BYO (bring your own) just in case.
Please leave the toilets as you would wish to find them.
There are no plans to install showers for this years edition but you are welcome to bring your own camping showers. There is also a shallow river running through the site to refresh yourself.
No soaps, detergents or shampoos of any types in the river or streams.
Is there anywhere to swim at the festival?
The river running through the festival site is shallow and enough to paddle.
We may dam some deeper pools, but this is subject to confirmation.
There is a large pond on the farm but it is completely out of bounds to all festival attendees.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO ENTER THE POND AS IT IS DANGEROUS AND UNSAFE.
Anyone found near to, or in the pond will be asked to leave the festival.
What about insects and bugs?
You will find wildlife anywhere in nature.
In the Welsh wilderness, you may encounter midges but only during twilight hours.
We have 4 recommendations for you to prepare yourself and your family.
1. Bring a suitable midge repellant
We recommend ‘Avon Skin So Soft’ or ‘Smidge’. Both are available on Amazon, Boots etc.
We will also provide repellant in key areas of the festival.
2. Dress appropriately for ‘midge time’
During twilight hours, put on a set of long trousers, long sleeves and hat for sunset/sunrise.
3. Keep moving
Dance, move your body, throw shapes, etc. Midges do not like body movement.
4. Antihistamine & After Bite
If you have an allergic reaction, take antihistamine tablets during the weekend and apply after bite lotion. First aid might have some available, but best to bring your own.
Is there first aid or medical support?
There will be a first aid point signposted at or near the site production office.
If you have a serious medical condition, please let someone in production know in case you need help.
If you do require medical attention, ask a steward or welfare.
Do you have recycling provision?
We provide recycling bins for most stuff that can be recycled: paper, plastic bottles and cans.
Anything else we ask that you take it home with you, please.
Please act accordingly and ‘leave no trace’. Only your footprints must remain.
