Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

When and where is Magikana in 2026?

Magikana Festival 2026 will take place 16-20 July in the mythical Cambrian Mountains, Wales, UK.

It is the same stunning location as in 2025 — our home sweet home since 2012.

How do I get there?

You can arrive at Magikana Festival by car, bike, public transport, or even on foot.

For full details, please visit: How to Arrive to Magikana Festival

At what time are the gates open and closed?

Magikana 2026 will open to the public on Thursday, 16 July, from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm (opening time subject to confirmation here).

After this, the gates will be open daily from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm on Friday 17, Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 July 2026.

* Why do the gates close at 9:00 pm?

The festival site is located at the end of a single-lane mountain road, and for safety reasons, access is only permitted during daylight hours (9:00 am – 9:00 pm).

Anyone arriving out of hours (before 9:00 am or after 9:00 pm) will be asked to park up in an overflow car park (3 miles from the site). Entry to the festival will then only be possible the following morning after 9:00 am.

* Closing times

All attendees must leave the site by 9:00 pm on Monday, 20 July 2026.

Can I camp anywhere? updated❗

Camping Guidelines – Magikana 2026

  • You may only camp in designated camping areas.
  • There are specific zones for Living Vehicles Only, Tents Only or Mixed Areas located further from the arena.

Camping Options

  • Riverside Camping – for tents only, along the Magikana River.
  • Near the Stages or Festival Arena – for those who prefer to be close to the action (please note: these areas will be closer to the sound systems).
  • Quiet Camping Zone – located uphill and further from the arena, a quieter option, though not completely silent.

Vehicles and Tents

  • Camping or erecting tents directly next to vehicles is not permitted, as this reduces available parking space.
  • An exception applies in the Quiet Camping Zone, where there is sufficient space to set up tents beside vehicles.

On Arrival

You will be asked whether you prefer:

  • Quiet Camping Zone – camping next to your vehicle, further from the arena.
  • General Camping & Vehicle Parking – closer to the arena, but without tent space beside vehicles.

Important

    • Wild camping or setting up tents in out-of-bounds areas is strictly prohibited
    • Anyone found camping outside the festival or the designated camping zones will be asked to move.
    Is the Music really non-stop?

Yes, thanks to its remote location Magikana Festival has a 24 hour music license. This is to stay consistent with similar types of international festivals and gatherings. We believe that the music is like a sacred fire that burns for the duration of the gathering.

Please note: Magikana’s sound design is not noisy but immersive. There is also a Quiet Camping Zone further away from the stages.

As a sustainable festival, we prefer to concentrate the programme on two main stages functioning around the clock, rather than having multiple small stages fuctionaing for just a few hours or clashing between each other.

The music programme has been curated to create a world-class journey between the two main stages, one featuring Uptempo Psy music and the other Downtempo and Midtempo Psy. See last year’s Programme.

When the Music starts and when it ends?

The programme of Magikana 2026 includes 72+ hours of non-stop music journey.

    • Music Starts: Friday 16 July at 12:00 hrs (12 pm
    • Music Ends: Monday 20 July at 15:00 hrs (3 pm)

Food Stalls are licensed until 16:00 hrs (4 pm), on Monday 20 July.

All attendees must leave the site by 21:00 hrs (9 pm) on Monday 20 July.

    Can I bring my children?

Magikana is a family friendly festival and children of all ages are welcome to attend.

Under 13s tickets are basically free, and teenager tickets are approximately half price. See tickets for more information.

All children need a named ticket purchased by their parent/guardian. Identification will be required for entry and children must be accompanied by their parent/guardian.

All under 18s are the sole responsibility of the parent/guardians and there are no creche facilities supplied by the festival at all.

No alcohol is to be provided to any under 18s.

You should consider bringing hearing protection for your children.

    Can I bring my dog?

In keeping with the family friendly ethos of the festival, Magikana has always been dog friendly. However, your furry friend must be of good character and must be kept under control and on a lead all the time (there are sheep grazing around the site). Violent dogs are not allowed on site.

    • Dogs must be registered prior to arrival. To do so, dog owners can acquire a £10 Dog Ticket / Registration from our Tickets page.
    • By purchasing a Dog Ticket, your dog will be automatically registered with their name under the ticket buyer’s name.
    • All Dog Tickets will receive a Magikana Dog Tag with their name, to be attached to the dog’s collar.
    • Unregistered dogs arriving at the gate will be refused entry.
    • Dog poos are the owner’s responsibility and must be cleaned up to keep the site clean for everyone.
Is there a telephone signal on site?

Until recently, there was NO mobile phone reception on site.

However, now there is 4G mobile coverage for EE providers.

For other companies, there is a faint signal if you walk for ten minutes up to the top of the hill but it is unreliable for 4G.

Therefore, if you are not in the EE network, consider yourself mostly off grid for the duration of the festival, unless you have access to Starlink.

    Is there free drinking water?

Same than last year, Magikana provides free drinking water to all attendes during the whole duration of the festival. However, it is always a good idea to for you to bring some reserves.

Will there be food on site?

Magikana licenses 4-5 food vendors providing hot and cold food and non alcoholic drinks including:

    • Organic Vegetarian/Veggan
    • Italian (Veggie & Non-Veggie)
    • World Food Stall (Veggie & Non-Veggie)
    • Barbeque Stall

You are also welcome to and we encourage you to bring your own food.

Please note: The nearest shops are in the towns of Tregaron or Lampeter, which are approx. 8 miles away from the festival.

Is there a bar serving alcohol on site? Can I bring my own?

In keeping with the family friendly and non-commercial ethos of the festival, Magikana doesn’t run a bar and is not licensed for the supply of alcohol.

The event is 100% BYO (bring your own). We suggest you stock up completely before coming to the site as there are no shops nearby.

Please note: NO GLASS is allowed on the festival arena!

The nearest shops are in the towns of Tregaron or Lampeter, which are approx. 8 miles away from the festival.

Please take your rubbish home with you or dispose empty cans or plastic bottles at the recycling points.

Are there general supplies on site?

There will be a convenience shop on site.

Or you can bring your essentials with you or buy in a local town before you reach the site.

The nearest shops are in the towns of Tregaron or Lampeter, which are approx. 8 miles away from the festival.

Is there a cash machine on site?

There are no bank facilities on site.

However, some traders may have EE or Starlink and may be able to accept card paymets.

It’s a good idea to bring cash. The nearest cash machines are in Tregaron or Lampeter.

    What about toilets and showers?

There will be portaloos on site. Please use them and don’t do your business on the land.

Whilst we do our best to provide toilet paper, BYO (bring your own) just in case.

Please leave the toilets as you would wish to find them.

There are no plans to install showers for this year’s edition but you are welcome to bring your own camping showers. There is also a shallow river running through the site to refresh yourself.

Please note: No soaps, detergents or shampoos of any types in the river or streams.

Is there anywhere to swim at the festival?

The river running through the festival site is shallow and enough to paddle and refresh yourself.

We may dam some deeper pools, but this is subject to confirmation.

There is a large pond on the farm but it is completely out of bounds to all festival attendees.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO ENTER THE POND AS IT IS DANGEROUS AND UNSAFE.

Anyone found near to, or in the pond will be asked to leave the festival.

    What about insects and bugs?

You will find wildlife anywhere in nature.

In the Welsh wilderness, you may encounter midges but only during twilight hours.

We have 4 recommendations for you to prepare yourself and your family.

    1. Bring a suitable midge repellant

We recommend ‘Avon Skin So Soft’ or ‘Smidge’. Both are available on Amazon, Boots etc.

    Smidge at Amazon

Avon Skin So Soft on Amazon

We will also provide repellant in key areas of the festival.

    2. Dress appropriately for ‘midge time’

During twilight hours, put on a set of long trousers, long sleeves and hat for sunset/sunrise.

    3. Keep moving

Dance, move your body, throw shapes, etc. Midges do not like body movement.

    4. Antihistamine & After Bite

If you have an allergic reaction, take antihistamine tablets during the weekend and apply after bite lotion. First aid might have some available, but best to bring your own.

Is there first aid or medical support?

There will be a first aid point signposted at or near the site production office.

If you have a serious medical condition, please let someone in production know in case you need help.

If you do require medical attention, ask a steward or welfare.

    Do you have recycling provision?

We provide recycling bins for most stuff that can be recycled: paper, plastic bottles and cans.

Anything else we ask that you take it home with you, please.

Please act accordingly and ‘leave no trace’. Only your footprints must remain.
